Blues is a fascinating and remarkable musical style! 'It breaks' several of the traditional classical music 'laws' and makes it work in an exciting way! It will all be revealed at the workshop in great details and examples.
Even though you may not desire to become a typical 'Bluesman / Blueswoman', this genre of music has so much to learn from. It is one the foundations of bluegrass, jazz and rock 'n roll, with has influenced most types of music, including choro and classical. The blues is also a great 'vehicle' to start and develop your improvising skills, which can be used later in other genres of music.

Explore the variety of typical blues forms and chord progressions from simple to more advanced, 'good chord voicings', chord substitutions, several different grooves and strumming patterns, most commonly used scales, step by step system on how to practice improvisation while including typical sounds and aspects of the 'blues vocabulary', phrasing and ornaments, creating instant blues melodies, standard songs and tunes. Specific routines for daily practicing.

Printed materials will be handed out. Hands on workshop, bring your instruments
