| | - To bring about a familiarity with the entire drum set
- I teach "by ear" which entails learning full beats, fills, and song structure without the use of a book
- I jump straight in to full drum patterns right from the start, designed to get you "jamming" as soon as possible
- I play guitar and bass along with the student, giving you the big picture of what it's like to be a musician
- To teach "intuitive playing" within the student's desired genre(s)
- To convey basic improvisational skills

| | Students will be expected to listen attentively during lessons and to ask as many questions as necessary.
Practice is mandatory for learning these skills, and if exercises and beats are not remembered, a tape recorder will be provided for home study. | |

| | - B.A. in Music Industry and Technology from CSU, Chico
- Began playing music in 5th grade school bands
- Started drums at age 15 and formed first rock band that year
- Joined local band Fenix Down at age 16 and wrote, rehearsed and performed with band for 6 years
- Recorded and released full-length album The Skeleton Party
- Currently drumming for local experimental group La Fin du Monde
