| | Lessons given at my home studio in Corning, CA Requirements: Please do not refer students unless they have a sincere desire to learn an instrument and will commit to practice at least five days weekly. Parents need to be willing to monitor practice and commitment. Payment for lessons should be the first week of each month. If this is a problem we can make other arrangements suitable to both parties. A pattern of not showing up for lessons usually results in the student being dropped. Please be about five minutes early for each lesson. | |

| | Instructor's Musical Background: Minored in music in college (University of Calif. in Santa Barbara, CA) , played first violin in university symphony. Attended the Music Academy of the West, near Santa Barbara, on a summer scholarship, attended Idywild School of Music on a summer scholarship, participated in the All CA State Orchestra (best state musicians, while in high school), played in the Santa Barbara Symphony (high school), taught music classes as part of my duties as a public school teacher (life teaching credential in CA), play for weddings, funerals, fund raisers for Christian groups and currently playing first violin as a member of the worship team at New Life Assembly of God Church in Corning (have played in churches for over thirty years). Frequently soloist for church functions. Additional Information: It is my feeling that a solid foundation in music theory is very valuable to any instrumentalist, regardless of the instrument. Therefore I teach music theory, and provide training in classical music. I also teach gospel, country western, fiddle and Irish tunes. Actually if a comprehensive foundation is taught, one can play any style of music. While I do use a traditional series of books, I encourage each student to be creative in their musical talents. | |
