The Music Connection is a full-line music store founded in 1994. We specialize in guitars, amps, keyboards, violins, band instruments, drums, and sheet music.

With everything from student instruments to pro-level gear, The Music Connection strives to meet the needs of the musician, from beginner to professional. Our beautiful three-story downtown location is home to 15 teaching studios with around 400 students per week.

The original store I purchased in 2003, before moving it to its East Ave location in July 2006. It wasn't until Febuary of 2022 that the store was moved to its downtown location on West 3rd St. In that time, we have added Marshall, Ibanez, Vox, Korg, and Tama to the store lineup, which originally included Yamaha, Washburn and an array of band instruments. My goal is to make The Music Connection a treasured community store, with a welcoming atmosphere suitable for both beginner and pro to explore and celebrate their shared passion of music.

While The Music Connection tries to match internet prices, our main focus is on customer service. We have an on-site guitar and violin repair service, as well as rentals, accessories, a CD selection made entirely of local bands, and the North State's largest selection of sheet music.

We have multiple employees (we call them Connectors) on staff, and most of them are also part of the local music scene. They are knowledgeable and ready to help for any of your musical questions.

At The Music Connection, we are always evolving and consistently adding new inventory. We hope to continue to be a vibrant, supportive, and overall welcoming resource for the local music community.
