Hawaii-born pianist Cara Okano Herrick earned a bachelor's degree from Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington, a master's degree from the Manhattan School of Music in New York City, and a doctoral degree from the University of Oregon in Eugene. She also holds a certificate in Early Childhood Education from Butte Community College.
Highlights of Cara’s career include a 2005 New York solo debut at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall, soloist with the University of Oregon Symphony, orchestra keyboardist with the North State Symphony, chamber musician and accompanist. She has taught at the college level and served as an accompanist at several universities. She has also been on staff at her alma mater, Punahou School. She welcomes students of all ages, interests, and abilities into her studio.
