Mr. McKenzie…
• Has been teaching music since 1993.
• Earned a B.A. in music education from CSU, Chico in 2002, graduating suma cum laude (3.98 GPA).
• Earned a California Teaching Credential in 2003 (valid through 2019).
• Earned a Kodály Certificate in 2013 (classroom and choral music focus).
• Has taught Band, String Orchestra, Choir, Classroom Music and other instruments in schools, after school music programs, and private lessons in and around Chico since 2000.
• Teaches sightsinging using rhythm syllables and solfege together with instrumental instruction.
• Has performed on Trumpet or String Bass in Classical Orchestras and Swing Bands on and off for over 25 years.
Instruction includes:

• Artistic expression
• Recitals with solo and ensemble performance.
