BACKGROUND

Yoshie Muratani is also an educator in chamber music, music theory, and solfege (sight-singing); an orchestral and choral conductor; and a composer and music arranger.

He has taught the cello to over sixty people since 1992, some of whom have gone on to become professional cellists.

Yoshie received his Master of Fine Arts degree in cello performance at the Osaka Conservatory of Music in Japan in 1994. She was selected as one of ten winners of the Rome Music Foundation scholarship in 1992 and 1993. The Rome Music Foundation is the most prominent institution of music education in Japan; its president is Seiji Ozawa.

Yoshie has been teaching cello and string orchestra at the Osaka Conservatory of Music and the Sinsaibashi Music School, and she taught music theory and solfege at the Osaka International School from 1994 to 1999.

After moving to the US in 1999, she studied orchestral conducting in the CSU, Sacramento master's program. She conducted the CSUS Symphony Orchestra in sevearl concerts between 2002 and 2003. Since 2004, she has given sseveral baroque concerts of Handel's opera, Bach's cantata, etc. with Apollo Performing Arts.
